Motorola is preparing to return to the foldable smartphone market after a year of absence with its new Razr 3 clamshell device. Before its release, we already know more about its French price and the colors that will be offered.
After launching its first Razr flip phone in 2019 , Motorola upgraded its offering with the Razr 5G in 2020 , and is now reportedly set to launch a new model after a year-long absence . The Motorola Razr 3 had recently been seen in several stolen photos, which revealed that the smartphone would this time adopt a more modern design .
In addition to a new design closer to its competitors, the Motorola Razr 3 should also see its price drop significantly compared to previous generations . Indeed, the famous leaker OnLeaks managed to get its hands on its price in France a few weeks before its official launch.
As a reminder, the Motorola Razr 5G was launched in France at a price of 1499 euros , which is a hundred euros less than its main competitor at the time, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G . Despite its more aggressive price, Motorola's clamshell smartphone obviously failed to convince customers, in particular because of its rather particular design and its technical characteristics which were not up to date.
With its new Razr 3, Motorola intends to change the game. We know that the smartphone will adopt a 6.7-inch screen, and a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor , the most powerful at the moment.
According to information from OnLeaks, Motorola intends to offer its new Razr 3 at a price of 1149 euros for its only Quartz Black version with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage . It would therefore be slightly more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 at 1059 euros, and this defect could well make the smartphone much less attractive. We also know that the Korean giant plans to lower the prices of the next generation Galaxy Z Flip 4 which will be unveiled this summer . We therefore hope that Motorola changes its mind before the launch regarding the price positioning of its smartphone.
